Lizzo took to Instagram this week with a raw, tear-streaked truth bomb about how difficult it was to wake up when battling mental health challenges.

The “About Damn Time” singer, who’s always been a beacon of self-love and confidence, got incredibly real with her fans about something deeply personal. In a raw and heartfelt Instagram post, she opened up about her current mental health struggles, admitting, “Today, I was bawling in bed.”

Lizzo, 37, has always been vocal about her difficulties with mental health. She’s consistently used her platform to promote body positivity and mental well-being, but this recent share pulled back the curtain even further. On May 21, 2025, she expressed her feelings on her “overwhelming mental health journey” and courageously reassured her fans that it is perfectly fine to undergo such challenging times in life.

In her candid post, Lizzo shared exactly what her day looked like. “My crashouts about the world are valid. And so are yours,” she wrote. She didn’t shy away from the pain, revealing, “Today I was bawling in bed…I cancelled my workout…I was driving around, sobbing because some days I just can’t take it. This sh*t ain’t easy for anybody.”

In a follow-up post the next day, Lizzo shared a clip of herself playing the flute in a backyard with the simple caption, “Have a good day.” This little moment of calm suggests she’s finding ways to navigate these tough times. It’s not the first time Lizzo has opened up about her mental health journey.

Back in March, she posted a video from the same backyard, standing in a sound bath, and proudly noted, “I crashed out bad Today, BUT this time I didn’t bring it to the internet… You know what that’s called? ✨GROWTH✨.”

Fans flooded the comments with messages of love and support, praising her vulnerability and strength. And rightly so. In a world that rewards highlight reels, Lizzo keeps it real.

So, let’s keep that energy going. Whether you’re a day-one fan or someone scrolling by, send a little love her way. She gave us a moment of truth. Let’s give her some grace right back.
