Wedding bells are ringing again for Meagan Good’s former husband, Pastor DeVon Franklin! The 46-year-old preacher, producer, and motivational speaker has officially proposed to celebrity fitness trainer Maria Castillo.
In September last year, just two years after divorcing Meagan Good, Pastor Franklin was captured on a romantic Cabo getaway, accompanied by his now-fiancee, Maria Castillo.
The sighting left many fans puzzled, especially since his divorce from Meagan Good was rumored to have been caused by her work and indecent exposure.
A few months later, Maria Castillo and Devon Franklin are laying rumors to rest with their engagement announcement. The joyful couple announced their thrilling news to People magazine, disclosing aspects of the romantic proposal during a beautiful Hawaiian vacation.
As reported by PEOPLE, Castillo’s ex-business partner, trainer Mike Trusdale, set up the introduction between the couple around a year ago. Trusdale, a friend of Franklin’s, arranged a brunch for them because he felt they would be an ideal match. Since their meeting, they have allegedly been inseparable.
“Finding Maria has been one of God’s greatest blessings in my life, so I wanted the proposal to be as special as our love,” Franklin tells PEOPLE. “We went to Maui for vacation, I told her we were gonna do a photo shoot, and during the photo shoot, I surprised her with the proposal! It was truly a magical moment, and I can’t wait to spend a magical life with Maria!”
Franklin and Good announced their divorce in December 2021 after spending nine years together. The former couple tied the knot in June 2012. According to them, no one was “at fault” in their decision, and they shared that the separation was the best thing for both of them.
