Megan Thee Stallion has achieved a significant legal victory. After a tense week-long trial, a jury found blogger Milagro Gramz liable on all three counts in Megan’s defamation lawsuit. These included defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and promoting an altered sexual depiction.

On December 1, it was determined that Milagro disseminated harmful falsehoods about Megan online and actively incited harassment against her. Additionally, the jury concluded she had contributed to the promotion of a pornographic deepfake video of the artist, an action that has serious legal repercussions under Florida law.

Initially, the jury awarded Megan $75,000, but U.S. District Judge Cecilia M. Altonaga later adjusted the amount to $59,000. It’s important to note that this figure does not account for additional damages the judge will determine later, nor for the legal fees Milagro will be responsible for due to her involvement in spreading the deepfake.

Megan’s attorney, Mari Henderson, expressed gratitude for the jury’s decision, emphasizing its importance in promoting truth and accountability within social media discourse: “We’re thankful for the jury’s commitment to reinforcing the importance of truth, accountability, and responsible commentary on social media… This verdict sends a clear message that spreading dangerous misinformation carries significant consequences.”

This legal battle did not arise in isolation. Megan has long faced a barrage of online harassment and false narratives, much of which has stemmed from the 2020 shooting involving Tory Lanez. Milagro was among the most prominent voices pushing these inaccuracies. The lawsuit outlined her behavior, including repeated harassment of Megan, encouraging her substantial following to target the rapper, promoting a sexually explicit deepfake video of Megan, and spreading lies that adversely affected Megan’s mental health and reputation.

The jury clearly found merit in these claims.

It’s worth remembering that Megan has already had to fight for justice in the shooting case; a Los Angeles jury convicted Tory Lanez in 2022, leading to a sentence of up to ten years in prison. Earlier this year, Megan also obtained a five-year restraining order against him.

Despite the jury’s decisive findings, Milagro’s attorneys attempted to downplay the verdict on social media. In response, Megan’s legal team promptly issued a formal letter demanding a retraction of the false public statements and the cessation of further defamatory content.

The court has yet to issue its final judgment on the defamation count, suggesting Milagro’s financial liabilities may increase.
