Amid growing concerns about hair loss among Mielle Organics customers, the company’s CEO has stepped forward to dispel the rumors. In a recent statement, the CEO categorically denied that Mielle Organics products cause hair loss.
Monique Rodriguez, the founder and CEO, affirmed that the product formulas have stayed the same despite the company being sold to Procter & Gamble in 2023.
Monique Roddriguez founded Mielle Organics in 2014. The company quickly became popular among black women due to its commitment to creating high-quality products for natural hair.
In 2022, the brand’s popularity skyrocketed after its Rosemary & Mint Scalp & Hair Strengthening Oil received glowing reviews from hair-car enthusiasts.
The oil, billed as a miracle product for hair growth and scalp health, went viral overnight. Users praised its ability to promote hair growth, stimulate growth, strengthen strands, and keep the scalp healthy.
Unfortunately, the hair-loss controversy surrounds this same product, which was previously widely praised for its growth benefits but is now under scrutiny following Mielle’s 2023 partnership with Procter & Gamble (P&G).
Several users reported that the same Rosemary and Mint Oil was causing severe hair loss and scalp irritation. The backlash grew as TikTok users posted complaints about clumps of hair falling out after using the oil.
Rodriguez took to Instagram on September 8, 2024, to clarify the situation in response to the rumors. She reassured customers that her products had always been safe despite it being sold to Procter & Gamble.
“Our products are created with healthy ingredients, and they are formulated to deliver safe and effective results,” Monique Rodriguez began. “We’ve always taken great care to ensure the quality of all of our products. And that commitment has never wavered.”
She continued, “From the very beginning, authenticity and transparency have been at the core of what I do. Over the years, we have had the privilege of serving millions of customers who have experienced wonderful results using our products… So, when I made the decision to partner with P&G, it was driven by my vision to take Mielle to new heights and become a global beauty brand. That vision remains as strong as ever today.”
“If you have any doubts, I encourage you to investigate our labels.” “From 2019 to 2024, there will be no formula changes,” Monique said, holding Mielle’s Rosemary mint hair growth oil.
