Rihanna Steps Down as Savage X Fenty CEO

Business and music mogul Rihanna has stepped down as CEO of Savage X Fenty, the lingerie brand she co-founded in 2018, reports have confirmed.

According to Vogue Business, the 35-year-old mother of two will transition out of the role and serve as the brand’s executive chair. Former Anthropologie CEO Hillary Super has been tapped to succeed Ms. Fenty and will begin in the new role tomorrow June 26.

“It’s been beautiful to see our vision for Savage X Fenty impact the industry at such an incredible magnitude over the last five years,” Rihanna told Vogue Business in a statement. “This is just the beginning for us, and we’re going to continue to expanding in ways that always connect with the consumer. I’m so grateful and excited to welcome Hillary Super as our new CEO — she is a strong leader and is focused on taking the business to an even higher level.”

For the past five years, Savage X Fenty has been praised as an industry leader in promoting diversity in its lingerie, appealing to a wide array of body types and skin tones. Its annual fashion show has also pulled in some of the industry’s biggest names, including Cara Delevingne, Damson Idris, Irina Shayk, Marsai Martin, Sheryl Lee Ralph and Simu Liu.

Super has previously led several iconic brands, including American Eagle, Guess, Gap and Old Navy, and says she looks forward to expand in-store locations across the U.S. Thus far, the brand has opened seven stores in locations including Los Angeles, Houston, Las Vegas and Atlanta.

“I’m thrilled to join the Savage X Fenty family,” the new CEO said. “The brand is a major powerhouse in the lingerie and apparel industry, and its unwavering commitment to celebrating inclusivity and fearlessness is inspiring.”

According to its website, Savage X Fenty “embodies fearlessness, confidence and inclusivity.
