Saweetie is spilling the tea! The “Icy Girl” rapper didn’t hold back during her recent appearance on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast, where she recounted a shocking discovery about infidelity in a past relationship.
While Saweetie didn’t explicitly name her ex, fans are convinced she was referring to Quavo, with whom she shared a high-profile romance from 2018 until their dramatic split in 2021.
The rapper detailed how a seemingly innocent New Year’s Eve celebration took a nosedive after a tense phone call exposed cracks in their relationship, eventually revealing a pattern of betrayal.
Saweetie explained that the night started with a call from a childhood friend, which she answered without hesitation, even putting it on the speaker to prove there was nothing to hide. However, her ex wasn’t convinced.
“He was projecting because he couldn’t believe I had a platonic relationship with this person,” she shared. “This person is my childhood friend, and nothing is going on.”
What followed was a heated argument, during which her ex tried to defend himself by offering Saweetie access to his phone as proof of his loyalty. “He starts cussing me out, and he’s like, ‘Man, you can go through my phone. My code is dada dada!'” she revealed.
“He goes to sleep. So, it’s time to investigate,” she said with a laugh.
What she found was more than enough to confirm her suspicions. Saweetie recalled going through her ex’s group chats with his assistants, uncovering evidence of infidelity with “all types of women.”
“Girl, this man has been playing me the whole time,” she admitted. “But I knew it was like a sickness because it was all types of women.”
While Saweetie didn’t directly name Quavo, her past statements and timeline align with the story. Following their breakup in March 2021, Saweetie took to Twitter to declare her single status, writing: “Presents don’t band-aid scars, and the love isn’t real when the intimacy is given to other women.”
She also tweeted at that time, “I’m single. I’ve endured too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes for a false narrative to be circulating that degrades my character.”
Saweetie and Quavo officially called it quits after about three years together. Their breakup took a messy turn when the Migos rapper repossessed the Bentley he bought her for Christmas.
