Brooklyn rapper Sheff G’s girlfriend received some money before the rapper began his jail sentence.

Just a week after his girlfriend announced her pregnancy, the artist behind the hit “No Suburban” reportedly sent her $50,000 as he prepared to serve a five-year prison sentence. This touching act was revealed when Sheff shared a post on Instagram on September 30, the day before he officially surrendered. The post featured highlights from his recent birthday celebration, along with a screenshot of the wire transfer receipt showing a transfer of $49,900 to his girlfriend, captioned: “Happy Birthday, twin.”

Reactions poured in from fans, with a mix of admiration for his commitment to his girlfriend during this tough time and sadness over the heartbreak and separation that many young Black men experience.

Sheff also reassured his fans that his musical contributions wouldn’t stop while he was incarcerated. “I got enough songs and albums to carry y’all through this bid,” he shared. “Musically, I’ll still be here with y’all. I’ll be right back.”

The 27-year-old rapper, whose real name is Michael Williams, was sentenced on October 1 after entering a guilty plea for attempted murder and conspiracy in connection with a gang-related RICO case from 2023. He will serve his sentence at the Eric M. Taylor Center in East Elmhurst, New York, followed by five years of supervised release. While prosecutors initially sought a 20-year sentence, a five-year term was reached through negotiation with the judge. Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez remarked on the sentencing, stating, “This defendant had talent and opportunity but chose to use them to fuel violence instead of building a better future.”

Despite the tough image, Sheff G ensured his pregnant girlfriend would be taken care of while he served his time.
