In an informative social media post that’s quickly gaining traction, Keisean Raines is warning Americans of a quiet but potentially seismic shift in U.S. governance.
Known widely as The Calm Coach, she is warning about the looming possibility of a Constitutional Convention that could rewrite the very foundation of American democracy.
“People don’t even know this is happening,” Raines says in the opening of her video. “We’re dangerously close to triggering the first Constitutional Convention in United States history.”
According to Article V of the U.S. Constitution, there are two ways to propose amendments:
- A two-thirds vote in both chambers of Congress, or
- A Constitutional Convention, called when two-thirds (34) of state legislatures submit applications.
So far, 27 states have submitted current applications, and 19 are aligned with the Convention of States Project, a conservative-led effort pushing for major changes such as term limits, balanced budgets, and reduced federal power. Though seven more states are still needed to reach the threshold, Raines laments that “we are uncomfortably close.”

“No Rulebook”: Why the Alarm Bells Are Ringing
One of the most concerning points raised in Raines’ video is that there are no established rules for how a modern Constitutional Convention would operate.
“They’re just going to convene and get together and just start scribble-scribbling and change the whole damn Constitution,” she says. “And there are literally no guidelines.”
This lack of structure leaves room for delegates—who would not necessarily be elected by the public—to propose sweeping changes to long-standing constitutional rights and protections. According to Raines, civil rights, reproductive freedoms, voting access, environmental regulations, and gun laws could all be vulnerable to revision or elimination.
Not Just Theory, But Urgent Reality
Though some may dismiss such warnings as “conspiracy theory,” Raines pushes back hard on that label, reframing critical thinking as essential civic awareness.
“This isn’t conspiracy. It’s real. And it could redefine everything we take for granted,” she says.
She stresses that this issue transcends party lines and demands public engagement and scrutiny:
“Imagine a room full of political operatives not elected by the people rewriting the Constitution.”
What’s at Stake?
The Convention of States campaign markets the initiative as a way to limit federal overreach. But critics worry that the same mechanism could be used to consolidate power and roll back fundamental rights, particularly in a climate where misinformation, book bans, and voter suppression have become alarmingly normalized.
“Do we really trust the people pushing to protect the democracy?” Raines asks. “This could be the most radical restructuring of American government since 1787.”
How to Take Action
Raines ends her message with a call to civic responsibility and vigilance:
- Check if your state legislature has passed an Article V resolution.
- Demand transparency and public debate on the issue.
- Educate others about what’s at stake.
“Every generation is handed a Constitution and a choice,” she concludes. “This isn’t just history being made—it’s history being rewritten. And we still have the power to shape the ending, y’all.”
As Keisean Raines warns, the people may not be able to rewrite the Constitution, but they can still protect it. Now is the time to pay attention.
