New mom Coi Leray just gave fans an exclusive look at her childbirth journey, and it’s equal parts raw, emotional, and triumphant.
Coi Leray is giving fans an unfiltered look at one of the most life-changing moments of her life: the birth of her daughter, Miyoco.
In a deeply personal new vlog posted to YouTube, the rapper and new mom takes viewers inside her labor and delivery experience, revealing that her birth plan didn’t exactly go as expected. What started as a hopeful natural birth ended in an emergency C-section, and Coi is keeping it all the way real about what she went through to bring her baby girl into the world.
“I was in so much pain,” Coi shared early in the video. “They gave me the epidural, but the baby stopped progressing and her heart rate started dropping. That’s when they said I had to get a C-section.”
From that moment, the energy in the room shifted, and so did Coi’s emotions.
“They ended up numbing my body… from my waist all the way down to my toes,” she recalled. “It was so intense, I even thought my throat was numb. I’m super claustrophobic, so I started freaking out because I couldn’t move. Not even a toe. I felt so restricted.”
In one of the most vulnerable parts of the vlog, Coi describes being wheeled into the operating room, laid on the table, and shielded from the surgery with a curtain.
“I’m awake during the surgery, but I couldn’t see anything. I was shaking. I felt like I couldn’t breathe. My mom was there, thank God. She told me everything was going to be okay. But I was terrified.”
Despite the fear and intensity of the moment, the rapper said she leaned on her medical team and mom for strength and ultimately gave birth to a healthy baby girl.
Coi first shared the news of her daughter’s arrival on June 16, with a sweet Instagram Story showing baby Miyoco’s tiny hand wrapped around her finger. In the photo, the baby wore a soft pink Polo onesie, her full head of hair just visible.
While this was the first baby for the “Players” rapper, the child is reportedly shared with fellow rapper and ex-boyfriend Trippie Redd.
