As sexual assault allegations against Sean “Diddy” Combs continue to fuel controversy, his mother, Janice Combs, has broken her silence with a heartfelt and emotional statement defending her son.
In the aftermath of the accusations, which have dominated headlines and fueled public debate, Janice stands by her son, pleading with the world to hold off judgment until the whole story is revealed.
This statement comes after a Houston-based attorney revealed that he was representing 120 victims of Diddy’s alleged sexual misconduct, which included a nine-year-old boy and a pregnant woman.
Janice Combs spoke with Local 10 News on Sunday through her attorney, Natlie G. Figgers, about the troubling situation and her thoughts on the charges against her son.
“I come to you today as a mother who is devastated and profoundly saddened by the allegations made against my son, Sean Combs,” she began, addressing the painful claims that have thrust her son into the center of a media storm. “It is heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth but for a narrative created out of lies.”
Janice Combs expressed her deep anguish over what she described as Diddy’s “public lynching,” which has put his reputation at risk.
“To bear witness to what seems like a public lynching of my son before he has had the opportunity to prove his innocence is a pain too unbearable to put into words,” she continued, highlighting the emotional toll this has taken on her and her family.
While acknowledging that her son may not be perfect, Janice firmly believes that the man she knows is far from the “monster” he has been portrayed as in recent accusations. “My son is not the monster they have painted him to be,” she declared.
She noted that what has been most difficult for Janice is watching the public turn against her son so quickly. “Watching the world make jokes and laugh at my son’s life crumbling before our eyes is something I can never forget,” she said, the anguish in her words palpable.
In closing, Janice Combs made a plea to Diddy’s supporters: “I ask that his fans and supporters not judge him,” urging everyone to wait for the truth to unfold before casting judgment on her son.
