Wendy Williams made a rare public appearance this past Sunday, defying claims made by her court-appointed guardian that she is “permanently incapacitated.”
The former TV Queen was spotted in a rare public appearance, offering fans a glimpse of her upbeat spirit despite ongoing concerns surrounding her health and legal battles. The former Wendy Williams Show host was seen on Sunday (Dec. 15) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, flashing a smile as she sat comfortably in the back seat of a sleek black SUV.
Last month, Wendy Williams’ guardian stated that she had become “permanently disabled and legally incapacitated” after a dementia diagnosis.
The health update was shared alongside Sabrina E. Morrissey, Wendy Williams’ court-appointed guardian, continuing legal dispute with A&E Television Networks, Lifetime Entertainment, and other associated parties regarding the release of Where Is Wendy Williams?, a documentary series focusing on the television personality’s guardianship, medical conditions, and life following The Wendy Williams Show.
According to the complaint Morrissey filed in New York County Supreme Court, the former talk show host, who was diagnosed with early-onset dementia and aphasia last year, did not even “have the capacity to consent to being filmed” at the time of the documentary’s production.
The complaint also requested that the defendants compensate Williams with unspecified compensatory and punitive damages and seeks a court order to permanently cease broadcasting the show.
A recent video shared on Instagram by blogger Antoine Edwards has prompted fans to question the validity of the “incapacitated” health update.
Information from the footage suggests that Wendy Williams was reportedly picking up an order from Sho’nuff Oysters, a popular seafood spot. The clip quickly gained traction online, as fans reacted to seeing the 60-year-old iconic TV personality looking polished and cheerful during the outing.
Dressed in an army-green jacket, Wendy accessorized her look with several statement bracelets and a bold ring that complemented her signature style. Always one to keep her glam intact, she sported her classic red lipstick and light brown hair styled with bangs, reminding everyone of the vibrant, put-together Wendy fans grew to love during her decades on daytime television.
Accompanying Wendy during the outing was her nephew, Travis Finnie, who has been a steady presence in her life amid her personal struggles.
The viral video surfaced after a family insider exclusively told DailyMail.com that Wendy Williams is “more clear now than she’s ever been,” following her guardian’s claim that she is “permanently incapacitated.”
