Snoop Dogg’s family is celebrating a new member’s early but joyful arrival! The rapper’s daughter, Cori Broadus, welcomed her first child on February 28, 2025, at just 25 weeks into her pregnancy.
Nearly 10 weeks after the rapper’s only daughter announced she was expecting her first baby with fiancé Wayne Deuce, she prematurely gave birth to a baby girl at 6 months.
“The princess arrived at 6 months,” Broadus wrote in her Instagram announcement. The post included a black-and-white image of their newborn daughter’s foot.
Though overjoyed by her daughter’s safe arrival, Cori admitted grappling with feelings of insecurity: “I’ve cried and cried, I’ve compared and compared, blaming myself that I wasn’t able to give her all that she needed.” Still, she’s finding comfort in her faith, adding, “God always shows me that I’m His Child!”
Cori continued, “Baby girl came at 25 weeks today, and she’s perfect as ever! Thank You, God, for getting me this far no matter the odds that are constantly thrown against me.”
Broadus subsequently shared two Instagram Stories, telling her followers that she underwent a cesarean section (C-section).
“1st c-section was success:) s/o to the man up above,” she captioned the Instagram Story of her lying on the operating table.
Her second Instagram Story was shared while she was in her hospital bed. She stated that she visited the doctor on Thursday, February 27, believing she merely had a severe case of gas.
Doctors informed Broadus that she was exhibiting signs of HELLP syndrome.
“Which is very severe and can even cause death if untreated,” Cori Broadus told followers, adding, “Doctors told me thank you for coming, and if I would’ve waited a few more days, it would’ve been really bad.”
“Ladies, please listen to your bodies and don’t believe everything you see on TIK TOK( talking to myself lowkey),” she concluded the post.
HELLP is an acronym for Hemolysis (the breakdown of red blood cells), Elevated Liver enzymes, and Low Platelets. It is a serious complication during pregnancy that is generally regarded as a variant of preeclampsia, and it typically arises in the later stages of pregnancy or shortly after delivery, according to the Preeclampsia Foundation.
While Snoop Dogg hasn’t yet publicly commented, sources close to the family say the hip-hop legend is “over the moon” about his granddaughter. Cori, his only daughter with wife Shante Broadus, has always been deeply cherished by the Doggystyle Records icon. Fans are already joking that the baby’s lullabies will include “Drop It Like It’s Hot” remixes.
