Reality TV’s favorite dentist, Dr. Heavenly Kimes, is officially running for Georgia State Representative!
The Married to Medicine star and fan-favorite just made a bold announcement: she’s officially running for Georgia State Representative in House District 93.
In an exclusive with PEOPLE, Dr. Heavenly revealed she’s hitting the campaign trail with a focus on healthcare access, economic prosperity, education reform, and small business support. Her district covers parts of DeKalb County, including Lithonia, Stone Mountain, Decatur, and Stonecrest.
“I’m not a career politician,” Kimes said in a statement. “I’m a mom, a doctor, and a business owner, and I’m not afraid to stand up for what I believe in. I’m running to serve, and I’m ready to work.”
And suppose you’ve watched her on Married to Medicine. In that case, you already know that when Dr. Heavenly says she’s ready to work, she means business.
The cosmetic dentist, entrepreneur, and longtime community advocate has built a name beyond reality TV. She owns multiple dental practices, mentors entrepreneurs through her “Dr. Heavenly University” platform, and has been outspoken about supporting Black-owned businesses and accessible healthcare.
Her campaign officially kicks off Tuesday, July 8, at 5 p.m. with a rally at the Georgia State Capitol. And it won’t just be political. It will be a moment. She’s invited supporters to come turn up in “Dr. Heavenly for Georgia” tees, snap pics, wave signs, and catch cameos from Married to Medicine castmates and special guests from Love & Hip Hop, The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and more.
And get this, her Married to Medicine co-star and longtime frenemy, Quad Webb, is managing the campaign.
Dr. Heavenly says her goal is to be a voice for the people who feel unseen in Georgia’s political landscape. “Our people deserve real representation. Someone who understands both the struggles and the solutions,” she explained. “I’ve spent my life helping people build confidence, start businesses, and take control of their futures. Now I’m bringing that same passion to the State Capitol.”
Dr. Heavenly Kimes is ready to take her impact beyond the small screen and straight into the halls of power.
