Doja Cat and Sydney Sweeney are in a full-blown beauty battle, and the internet is showing no signs of letting up on the debate.

The drama all started with a controversial American Eagle ad that has fans tearing each other apart and debating everything from aesthetics to supremacy propaganda.

It all started when American Eagle launched an ad campaign starring actress Sydney Sweeney. In one of the most talked-about ads, the Euphoria star recites a monologue that plays on the word “genes,” saying, “Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color. My jeans are blue.” The company’s creative choices quickly drew criticism from some who accused the campaign of promoting problematic beauty standards and even associating it with eugenics.

Doja Cat, never one to miss a viral moment, decided to join the conversation. The rapper hopped on TikTok and posted a video where she quoted Sweeney’s monologue word-for-word in a thick Southern accent. The video was a clear jab at the American Eagle ad and quickly set off a firestorm of reactions.

Sydney Sweeney fans came for Doja Cat with everything they had. They were quick to accuse the rapper of being jealous and insecure. One fan wrote, “Let’s be honest… It’s not just the makeup. Sydney is beautiful, and Doja is just jealous. I am so tired of it being perfectly acceptable to put people down and just be plain ignorant as long as you’re the right shade! Hate is hate, and it’s not ok either way!” Another added, “Only in America can a jealous black woman like Doja Cat make fun of a white woman like Sydney Sweeney and give her a hillbilly accent and it not be considered racist.”

However, Doja Cat’s fans were quick to clap back. They defended her by pointing to her massive success, arguing that she has no reason to be jealous of Sweeney. One fan commented, “Doja Cat is objectively more successful than Sydney. She got nothing to be jealous of.”

The beauty battle is far from over, and it seems like everyone has an opinion on the matter. Was Doja Cat’s video a playful roast or a moment of genuine jealousy? Is the American Eagle ad really as problematic as critics claim? The only thing that’s clear is that this is a conversation that’s tearing fans apart.
