Cardi B is attempting to clarify her relationship with Latto, following the release of a leaked phone call in which she used derogatory language to refer to Latto.

The drama kicked off when a recording surfaced online of Cardi venting about Ice Spice’s manager, James Rosemond Jr. In a passionate outburst, Cardi threatened to confront Ice Spice and didn’t hold back with her words. At one point, she stated, “I’m not Latto,” and emphasized, “I’m a beat her the f— up! I’m a knock her the f— out!”

Wow.

The clip quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter), generating endless discussions. The repercussions were broader than Cardi had anticipated, especially for Latto, who just collaborated with Cardi on the “Errtime (Remix).”

To clear up any misunderstandings, Cardi quickly took to social media to reassure everyone that she has nothing but love for Latto: “I was ranting and hot at the moment, but I f— with Latto HEAVY!! I respect everything about her, including her team, that’s so sweet. AND NOPE! I’m not too prideful to apologize to somebody I really respect, so this is my public apology, and now ima privately buy her a bag.”

This comes amid ongoing speculation about relationships among women in rap. Although Cardi and Latto had been on good terms, having collaborated just last week, fans are aware that Latto has been involved in various feuds, including subtle jabs towards Ice Spice and comparisons to Nicki Minaj.

But Cardi wasn’t finished addressing the situation. She challenged Ice Spice’s manager to release the entire 11-minute audio, claiming Ice Spice had been discussing Cardi’s remarks regarding Sexyy Red’s BET Award win. According to Cardi, the snippets causing the uproar don’t present the complete picture.

As for Ice Spice? She added to the drama by tweeting a laughing emoji and promoting her upcoming single “Pretty Privilege,” which is the same song that supposedly triggered Cardi’s anger in the first place.
