Political commentator Danielle Moodie delivered one of her most fiery critiques yet, taking aim at both major U.S. political parties and urging Americans to stop “settling for crumbs” from systems that, she argues, were never built for the people.
In a post shared to Instagram late Wednesday night, Nov. 5, 2025, Moodie wrote, “Last night is a reminder that we the people don’t have to settle for crumbs! We’re coming for the whole pie!” The caption accompanied a video excerpt from her latest show, where she dissected the nation’s widening economic inequality and the growing disillusionment among progressive voters.
“Last night [election night, when Democrats won many Governor and Moyorial races] was the spark that was needed to remind the American people of what is possible,” she began. “Possibility is the kryptonite of fascism. It is also the kryptonite of the status quo.”

‘I Don’t Need to Be Part of a Big Tent if It’s a Circus’
Moodie — host of the politically charged podcast Woke AF Daily — spared neither Democrats nor Republicans in her blistering commentary.
“They want to talk about big tents right now,” she said. “The Democrats are a big tent. But I don’t need to be part of a big tent if that big tent is a circus. I’m not interested in being entertained.”
For Moodie, the metaphor was more than political theater, it was a warning about complacency. She accused Democrats of offering symbolic victories rather than structural change, calling them “handmaidens of capitalism” who have become too comfortable with incremental progress.
“The Republicans say, ‘We’re not for healthcare, we’re not for this, we’re not for that,’” she said. “And then the Democrats say, ‘Just give us a little bit, it’s fine.’ And then we look like the good guys. It’s a game. Our lives are a game to them.”
A Voice for the Disillusioned Left
Moodie’s words echo those of some progressive voters, many of whom have expressed frustration over what they view as the Democratic Party’s failure to deliver on key promises — from healthcare reform and climate policy to economic justice.
In a political climate under Donald Trump, where fascism and apathy seem to grow in tandem, Moodie’s message is essentially a call to rediscover hope through radical imagination.
“Possibility,” she said, “is the enemy of every system built on control.”
Her commentary follows a wave of decisive wins in the New York mayoral election and governor races in Virginia and New Jersey for the Democratic Party on election night, Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025.
The electoral victories are a far cry from the scenes after last year’s presidential election, when the party was left searching for answers after Trump and the Republicans scored a hugely dominant victory.
The results also mark a year until vital midterm elections.
“Danielle’s voice matters because she’s saying what so many people are afraid to,” someone commented, “She’s calling out the illusion of choice in a two-party system that often prioritizes stability over justice.”
Reclaiming the Political Imagination
What separates Moodie from many other pundits is her insistence that outrage alone isn’t enough, it has to evolve into vision.
“Caring for people is not radical,” she said in the video. “Giving people food, healthcare, self-determination — that’s not socialism. That’s humanity.”
In her world, the pie — a metaphor for true equality and opportunity — isn’t something to be begged for, but taken back from the political class.
The response online was swift: hundreds of comments echoed her sentiment, with followers writing things like “Say it louder for the people in the back!” and “Tired of crumbs, too — we deserve more.”
