A Dallas woman’s 27-part TikTok series chronicling her personal experience with a former partner who allegedly scammed her and others out of tens of thousands of dollars is captivating audiences worldwide.
Onyeka Ehie, a realtor and former reality show contestant (@onyekaehie), launched the series, titled “The Danish Deception,” in mid-November, detailing the rise and fall of her three-year relationship with Danish man Martin Fredsgaard Andersen.
Ehie first rose to social media attention sharing her long-distance romance with Andersen, including travel adventures and cultural exchanges, after appearing on Season 23 of The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise.

The series, part storytelling, part cautionary tale, unfolds as Ehie recounts Andersen presenting himself as a former Olympian and member of the Danish royal family with a high-level tech career.
Initially swept up by the romance, Ehie eventually realized that Andersen had a serious gambling addiction and had borrowed large sums of money from her, her family, and friends—reportedly totaling over $30,000 from her directly and up to $300,000 in cryptocurrency from a friend.
Her TikTok videos have drawn a mix of shock, empathy, and disbelief from viewers around the globe. Some users likened the story to viral social media docuseries like The Tinder Swindler or Who TF Did I Marry, which have inspired Netflix projects and Hollywood adaptations.
Ehie herself has already received messages from other alleged victims and is collecting testimonies to support a possible criminal investigation.

By the final video in the series, Ehie confirmed that her divorce from Andersen was finalized on Nov. 4, 2025. While many followers are relieved, her story has sparked discussions on online safety, financial fraud, and international scams targeting unsuspecting individuals.
Experts say Ehie’s series highlights the power of social media as a tool for public awareness and collective vigilance against fraud.
As TikTok continues to popularize serialized storytelling, the platform is increasingly shaping real-world outcomes—from raising awareness to prompting legal scrutiny.
