In a video posted to Instagram, Diop filmed herself outside the bustling café, smiling as she reflected on how far the business has come.
“Sometimes I cannot believe that I literally opened a business in Africa,” she said, panning the camera to capture the entrance. “And not just any business — we have employees, we have customers, like people that I don’t know come to the café.”
Diop, known to her 600,000+ followers as @ellietalksmoney, said the café hosted a full brunch that day — a clear sign that the local community is embracing the space. For her, the moment was more than just good business; it was deeply personal.
