What started as a personal battle with hair loss has blossomed into a thriving business that has touched the lives of tens of thousands of women.
Dominique Bogle, from Birmingham, in the United Kingdom, first noticed signs of hair loss while studying at university. After being diagnosed with alopecia, she struggled to find wigs that were both affordable and high quality. Real human hair wigs were far too expensive, while synthetic versions often lacked the natural movement she longed for.
“I thought there’s got to be other women like myself going through the same problem, finding it really hard to find wigs to cover their hair loss,” Dominique told the BBC. “Having wigs really helps you with your confidence and makes you feel like a woman again because, as a woman, your hair is everything.”
From Struggle to Startup
Determined to create a better solution, Dominique launched her own brand of synthetic wigs designed to look and move like natural hair. Her innovation struck a chord with women facing alopecia, chemotherapy, and other hair loss challenges.
Four years on, Dominique’s brand has grown into a successful business with a 60,000-strong following on TikTok. Beyond just selling wigs, she provides education, emotional support, and a community for women navigating hair loss challenges.
“I am there to guide them, whether it’s through education or just to hold their hand and to say: ‘Don’t worry, we’ve got you,’” she said.
Making a Difference

Emma Wittingham, who is undergoing chemotherapy, shared how the business has supported her: “Going through chemotherapy, I’ve had to stay at home and isolate a lot. Just having that connection on a screen through a phone has been crucial.”
