The first Black ‘Bachelorette’ is facing a divorce from her husband, Bryan Abasolo, who is seeking spousal support after four years of marriage

Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo met on season 13 of ABC’s reality dating show, “The Bachelorette”, after the chiropractor caught her attention out of 31 suitors who competed for her affection.

Rachel Lindsay recently said during an interview with The Viall Files in December that since The Bachelorette, they have been “private” to protect their relationship.

“We don’t put ourselves out there at all, except maybe an anniversary or a holiday post here and there. But I think I did that because people were so critical of us when we came off the show,” she said.

According to court documents The Times obtained, 43-year-old Abasolo filed for divorce on Tuesday in Los Angeles, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the grounds for the split.

He also claimed that they have been living separately since December 31, 2023.

During The Viall Files podcast episode, Lindsay also revealed that she and her husband lead different lives due to their career paths.

“Bryan is a sole practitioner. He leaves the house at 8. He comes home at 9 o’clock, 9:30 sometimes. It’s just him by himself. Me, especially now that I’m not doing ‘Extra,’ I have a lot more free time … and then I’m back in hustle mode trying to get a second job, so I go to events. So, we’re just in two totally different places,” Lindsay told Nick Viall.

Now, more than six years after Lindsay gave the first and last red rose of “The Bachelorette” Season 13, Abasolo has filed to dissolve the marriage.

“After more than 4 years of marriage, Rachel and I have made the difficult decision to part ways and start anew. Sometimes loving yourself and your partner means you must let go,” Abasolo said in a statement posted to his Instagram page Tuesday.

According to the divorce petition, Bryan Abasolo is seeking spousal support. He is also requesting to terminate the court’s ability to reward spousal support to Lindsay.

Lindsay’s soon-to-be ex-husband wants ownership rights for his shared properties with her, including a residence in North Hollywood

Rachel Lindsay has yet to comment directly on her social media.
