Iconic Janet Jackson has opened up about one of the most memorable moments of her career: the infamous wardrobe malfunction that occurred during her halftime performance for  Queen Elizabeth.

Janet Jackson’s fashion style is well-known for its bold, innovative, and often daring elements. She has long been a trendsetter and style icon, influencing fashion trends.

Janet Jackson has previously been the subject of arguably the most famous wardrobe malfunction of all time, the infamous Super Bowl incident.

In February 2004, Justin Timberlake ripped off part of Jackson’s costume near the end of the show, exposing her right breast. At that time, there were conflicting reports about whether the moment was an accident or planned.

The 58-year-old is not afraid to experiment with daring looks, often incorporating unconventional silhouettes, bright colors, and statement pieces.

Janet Jackson took a trip down memory lane with British Vogue, revisiting outfits that bring back fond memories and awkward moments.

In a video on her Instagram, the singer revealed that her trousers split when she met the late Queen Elizabeth II in the 1990s.

Janet revealed that the outfit she wore to her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in 1990 was inspired by Ray Bradbury’s book Fahrenheit 451. The singer altered the look by adding several silver plates with the assistance of designer Bill Whitten, who is said to have created several of Michael Jackson’s memorable looks.

In the clip, she referenced her outfit, which is commonly associated with her album Rhythm Nation 1814 performance for Queen Elizabeth.

“Funny story about this outfit. I was performing for the Queen of England, and we were doing ‘Rhythm Nation.’ Sure enough, as soon as I squatted, my pants split right in my booty crack,” she recalled. “I couldn’t believe it happened. I thought, oh my God. And then I started feeling air back there, so I knew it had really happened,” Janet Jackson admitted with a laugh.

Despite the hiccup, Jackson handled the situation with grace and professionalism. She revealed that she never turned her back on Queen Elizabeth, even when the choreography required her to do so.

“I just faced forward.”
