Married to Medicine star Dr. Heavenly Kimes is in damage-control mode after sparking outrage with controversial remarks about gay men during a recent YouTube livestream. The Bravo personality, known for her unfiltered takes, faced swift backlash after suggesting gay men aren’t “real men”—a comment she now calls “ignorant” and “mistaken.”

The criticism stemmed from her most recent video, where Dr. Heavenly discussed the situation involving Quad Webb’s new partner and Dr. Gregory Lunceford. While talking about their dispute, she made a remark about gay men that many found offensive.

In Season 11, Episode 12 of Married to Medicine, King charges Dr. G over comments he made about his former wife. During Dr. Heavenly’s unofficial after-show, she stated that King’s reaction was warranted, but she also made an inappropriate remark about gay men while doing so.

Heavenly said, “If you have a conversation with somebody and it goes to the left, most men – real men, not gay men, not b*tch men, the guys that are kinda soft – real men … straight men …are gonna feel like ‘If you tell my wife to shut the f*ck up I’m gonna have a problem with it.'”

Clips of her remarks quickly spread across social media, drawing condemnation from fans and LGBTQ+ advocates. Critics accused the reality TV dentist of perpetuating harmful stereotypes and undermining the identities of gay men.

Facing mounting pressure, Kimes posted a tearful apology video to her YouTube channel, repeatedly expressing regret. “I love y’all. And again, let me apologize for what I said before,” she began. “A lot of people feel uncomfortable about something I said, and it was mistaken. I want to say I apologize… It was an ignorant statement I made about being a real man. I want to apologize for that again and again.”

She emphasized that she never intended to offend, adding, “Y’all know I didn’t mean anything by it. So I will apologize for that again and again. I was wrong.”

Currently, the apology seems to have mitigated some of the early criticism. Fans are encouraging Dr. Heavenly to transform this mistake into a chance for an inclusive engagement with her entire audience.
