Halle Berry, 58, finds herself in a heated custody battle with ex-husband Olivier Martinez, also 58, over their 11-year-old son, Maceo.
In an exclusive report, In Touch revealed that Berry submitted text messages with her former employee, Miryam Haziza, as evidence, alleging interference by Martinez in her son’s upbringing.
The texts, part of Berry’s legal strategy, expose her claims of betrayal by Haziza, who worked for her for 20 years, and another former employee, Erica Simamora. Berry accuses both women of conspiring with Martinez to undermine her parental rights and falsely report against her.
Allegations of Interference
The Oscar-winning actress claims that Simamora, a former nanny and assistant, collaborated with Martinez to disrupt Maceo’s therapy.
According to Berry, Simamora contacted the child’s therapist under Martinez’s persuasion, an act she believes is central to his alleged interference.
In one text to Haziza dated October 4, 2023, Berry wrote, “Erica just lied on you big time!” Haziza’s response, though partially redacted, prompted Berry to declare, “I will sue her ass OFF.”
Berry also referenced Martinez’s alleged attempts to manipulate her inner circle, writing to Haziza:
“Olivier is just mad that I won the school battle and he’s wanting to make me a bad guy here. He looked so bad in front of the judge last time and was caught in so many lies that he’s trying to drag me to his level.”
A “Conspiracy” Against Berry
Berry’s texts paint a picture of frustration and betrayal. She expressed disbelief at the alleged actions of Martinez and her former employees, describing their behavior as “evil.”
Berry suggested that Martinez used Maceo as a pawn to cause strife within her household.
The actress also dismissed the potential impact of Simamora’s allegations, noting, “Erica has nothing damaging she can say… She cannot talk to anyone about anything that happened at our home, unless she is subpoenaed to court.”
Legal Proceedings Ahead
The ex-couple is scheduled to appear in court next month, where Berry will continue to argue that Martinez’s actions warrant the removal of his legal custody rights. Martinez, however, has countered her claims, calling for the case to be dismissed.
The custody battle highlights ongoing tensions between the two since their 2016 divorce. Despite her public persona as a celebrated actress, Berry’s private life remains embroiled in complex legal disputes.
