R&B singer Jhene Aiko has revealed that she lost her home in the recent devastating wildfires that swept through Los Angeles. She shared the heartbreaking news with her followers on Instagram, offering a raw glimpse into her ordeal and the challenges she now faces as she rebuilds her life.

On Thursday, Aiko posted an update on her Instagram Stories, informing her followers that she and her kids lost their home because of the wildfires in Los Angeles.

In the first slide of her post, Aiko expressed her thoughts and prayers for those impacted by the devastating blaze.

“Praying for everyone this morning. Those who lost their home, those who lost their life’s work, those who lost their life. Praying for my city. Praying for the wildlife and lost pets. Praying for the world. Let suffering be a gift, a lesson in compassion,” she wrote.

In the next slide, the “Stay Ready” singer disclosed that she would be beginning anew as her residence was destroyed in the fire.

She wrote, “Me and my children’s home is gone burned to the ground with all of our things inside. Lord have mercy. Thankful we still have each other. Starting from scratch. My heart is so heavy.”

Following Aiko’s announcement regarding the loss of her home, many fans expressed their sympathy for the singer. However, a few individuals pointed out that Aiko’s wealth is comparable to that of Paris Hilton, who also suffered the loss of her Malibu residence in the devastating fires and can readily purchase another property.

Aiko noticed those comments that seemed to lack empathy toward her plight and decided to share her feelings in the Shade Rooms comment section.

“The fact that some of you think I have Paris Hilton money is wild,” she began. “I don’t get it like that, but I do have a big, loving family that is worth more than anything.”

She continued, “When I was in the 2nd grade, our home burned down with everything in it. I never understood why some of the kids at school were so mean about it because they thought we were rich when we weren’t. But they thought we were rich because we had love!!”

“My family and our friends came together and made sure my mom and me and my siblings had at least 1 new sweat suit and 1 pair of shoes the very next day.

“I am fortunate enough to be in a better situation than back then. And I pray I can have as much grace as my mother did during that time. I work very hard for my family. I pray that you all stay safe. God bless,” Jhene Aiko concluded.

Alongside Aiko, other stars who lost their residences in the destructive wildfires that swept through Southern California are Leighton Meester, Adam Brody, Anna Faris, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s mother.
