A month into President Donald Trump’s term, former Vice President Kamala Harris’s voters are expressing their satisfaction—or lack thereof—with Trump’s performance, according to a Harvard University/Harris poll.

Trump was inaugurated on January 20, 2025, after securing a decisive victory over Harris in the 2024 presidential election. Harris, alongside her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, launched a campaign following former President Joe Biden’s withdrawal in July. Despite their efforts, Trump reclaimed the presidency, having previously served before Biden and Harris. He won 312 electoral votes to Harris’s 226, sweeping all key swing states.

Since taking office, Trump has enacted sweeping policy changes through executive orders, targeting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, immigration policies, and, most recently, expanding access to in vitro fertilization. His early weeks in office have been marked by key Cabinet appointments, domestic crises such as wildfires in Los Angeles and aviation accidents, as well as the successful return of Americans previously imprisoned overseas.

The Harvard University/Harris poll, released Monday, found that 9 percent of Democratic Harris voters and 6 percent of Republican Harris voters are now satisfied with Trump’s performance. Meanwhile, 12 percent of Democratic Trump voters and 85 percent of Republican Trump voters express satisfaction with their choice.

Additionally, the poll reveals that 6 percent of Trump voters regret their decision and wish Harris had won—compared to 37 percent of Harris voters who still wish she had prevailed.

When evaluating Trump’s performance, 8 percent of Republicans believe he is performing worse than expected, while 63 percent of Democrats share that sentiment. However, 13 percent of Democrats say Trump is exceeding their expectations, along with 66 percent of Republicans.

The survey, conducted online by the Harris Poll and HarrisX on February 19-20, 2025, included 2,443 registered voters across the United States. The margin of error for the total sample is ±2.0 percentage points.
