Lisa Bonet finally calls it quits on Jason Momoa 18 years after they became a couple.

On Monday, January 9, 56-year-old Lisa Bonet, whose legal name is Lilakoi Moon, filed documents in Los Angeles County court to end her marriage to 44-year-old Jason Momoa.

The filing comes nearly two years after they announced their separation, but according to court documents, they broke up in 2020, more than a year before publicly announcing their separation.

According to legal docs obtained by TMZ, Lisa is asking a judge for a dissolution of marriage so that the two actors can “part ways in marriage”.

When the couple announced their split nearly two years ago, many assumed the announcement date coincided with their separation date.

However, in her recent filing, Lisa Bonet revealed they had split earlier before telling the world about their decision. The paperwork reportedly lists their date of separation as October 7, 2020.

Thus, their marriage lasted about three years and did not survive the 5-year mark as many assumed since the couple made their relationship legal with a wedding in 2017.

Lisa’s petition cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. Also, the filing requests that neither person should be awarded financial support and that the two have agreed on how to split their assets.

The documents say they should have joint custody of their two minor children, a 16-year-old daughter, Lola Lolani Momoa, and a 15-year-old son, Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha Momoa.

Lisa Bonet and Jason Momoa met and started dating in 2005 and tied the knot discreetly in a private ceremony in October 2017, although the news quickly became public.

Their marriage was Momoa’s first marriage and the second for Bonet, who was previously married to musician Lenny Kravitz, with whom she shares another daughter, actor Zoë Kravitz.
