This Thanksgiving, Houston-born superstar Megan Thee Stallion showcased her commitment to community support, going beyond her music career to make a significant impact.
Through her Pete & Thomas Foundation, she collaborated with Walmart to provide meals to nearly 2,000 underserved families across Texas, ensuring that many households had the essentials for a warm, festive holiday season.
The outreach began in Dallas, where Megan hosted a Thanksgiving Turkey Drive at Crossroads Community Services, distributing full holiday meals to over 1,200 families. These meals included turkeys, fresh vegetables, sides, desserts, and even $50 Walmart gift cards aimed at easing the holiday burden for many. Earlier that same week, the foundation returned to Megan’s hometown of Houston. In collaboration with God’s Grace Community Church, they provided turkey distributions to over 500 families, making a crucial difference for many locals by ensuring they had a holiday meal.
Established in 2022 in memory of Megan’s late parents, Holly Thomas and Joseph Pete III, the Pete & Thomas Foundation is dedicated to uplifting women, children, senior citizens, and underserved communities both in Houston and beyond. This Thanksgiving, the foundation’s mission was clearly evident through its efforts.
In keeping with her generous spirit, Megan has also taken on the role of Thanksgiving chef for the Thompson household. NBA legend Mychal Thompson confirmed that she would be preparing the turkey this year. During an interview on ESPN LA’s Mason & Ireland Show, he enthusiastically identified her as the main cook, stating, “It’s Meg.” He further emphasized the culinary prowess of Black women, joking, “All Black women are good cooks. Have you ever gone to a Black person’s house and not had good food?” Mychal also reminisced about Megan’s renowned spaghetti and catfish dish, describing it as the best meal he’s ever had and noting that he requests it “every week.”
