Nicki Minaj Stands With Trump?! Rapper Speaks Out On Christian Killings In Nigeria

by Grace Somes

Nicki Minaj has stepped in to praise U.S. President Donald Trump for bringing attention to the persecution of Christians in Nigeria.

Late Thursday night, she took to X (formerly Twitter) to share her thoughts, posting a clip of Trump condemning what he described as “the mass killing of innocent Christians in Nigeria by radical extremists.”

“Reading this made me feel a deep sense of gratitude. We live in a country where we can freely worship God. No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion. We don’t have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other,” Nicki Minaj wrote.

She added, “Numerous countries all around the world are being affected by this horror, and it’s dangerous to pretend we don’t notice. Thank you to the president and his team for taking this seriously. God bless every persecuted Christian. Let’s remember to lift them up in prayer.”

Nicki’s remarks come during a time of rising violence against Christian communities in Nigeria, particularly in the Middle Belt region, where clashes between religious groups have displaced many. During a recent campaign event, Trump urged for increased international attention on what he described as a genocide against believers.

“Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria. Thousands of Christians are being killed. Radical Islamists are responsible for this mass slaughter. I am hereby making Nigeria a ‘country of particular concern,'” Trump wrote.
He added that the United States “cannot stand by while such atrocities are happening”. He pledged that Washington would “stand ready, willing, and able to save our great Christian population around the world.”

Her tweet quickly ignited a firestorm on social media, with #NickiMinaj and #Nigeria trending as fans, critics, and commentators weighed in on her unexpected support for Trump’s message.

Many of Nicki’s followers commended her for highlighting a humanitarian crisis that often goes unnoticed in Western media. One fan remarked, “She’s right. People don’t talk enough about what’s happening to Christians in Nigeria. Respect to Nicki for saying something.”

On the flip side, others expressed unease at her apparent alignment with Trump, given his controversial stances on religion and immigration. “Nicki, I love you, but this ain’t it,” one user replied. “Don’t let Trump manipulate real issues for clout.”
