Seems like just yesterday singer and songwriter Summer Walker announced she was expecting her second child with her then-boyfriend and rapper, Larry a.k.a Lvrd Pharoh. Well, in a surprise announcement, the Atlanta songstress has revealed that she is now the mother of three after giving birth to twins over the weekend.
“I’m so proud of myself. Just sharing to inspire other women, because I know once you carry twins to almost 42 weeks, especially with one breech, people will try to steer you towards induction or C-section (which, there’s nothing wrong with these, I just didn’t want it for myself),” she said in an Instagram story. “You can do it, this was my second home birth, all natural, seven hours, no tearing, and I couldn’t [have] done it without my spirit guides, godparents, birth team, my elders and the best dad doula ever, Larry.”
She continued: “[Larry] was so hands-on the whole time. I was really impressed. It wasn’t easy but it gets done. Both births I almost blacked out at the end, but eating your placenta will definitely keep you above water. I have thin blood, so I always end up going to the hospital to bring myself back into good strength for them, but as long as my kids stay at home untouched, I’m good.”
It was also recently revealed that fellow recording artist Erykah Badu came to Summer’s aid as her doula – her second time serving as a support partner throughout Summer’s pregnancy journey.
In a recent Instagram post, the Next Lifetime star shared that her daughter Puma was also assisting Summer throughout gestation.
“Today, I am training this very capable doula,” Erykah wrote. “So she will be shadowing me today while we assist a mom who is in labor with twins. So we’re in Whole Foods now doing our shopping, we landed in the city, and we’re ready to go.”
Just months before Summer Walker was expected to give birth, she announced that she and her boyfriend Larry had called it quits.
The 26-year-old singer made the announcement on her Instagram story stating that she was no longer with her ex-boo. In the IG story, she is seen with her 20-month-old daughter she shares with producer London on Da Track.
“People been trying to be in my business bad lately, idk why y’all need updates on my life lol like go touch grass but I’ve decided to be single,” she wrote.
She added that although they are no longer together, she and her baby’s father are in good spirits.
“It’s no hard feelings, Larry is an amazing father there’s just certain things I won’t tolerate, but we’re super duper happy to have all our children & we just living life. he be at every swim class every photoshoot every dr appointment and every baby event.”
