A heartwarming surprise has captured hearts across the internet as a video of a grandmother reuniting with her firstborn son went viral.
For many, the now-viral video reminds them of the powerful bond between a mother and her child.
The emotional scene begins innocently enough: the woman, dressed casually and enjoying her 94th birthday celebration, dances, poses for photos, and chats with family.
Then someone hands her a phone. On the other end is her eldest son, absent from the gathering, who begins a touching call with his mother.
“The family just put it all together, and I’m… yeah, I’m gonna eat them up too,” she says with a smile. “It was nice…And I know that I expect you because you’re the oldest one, and you should always lead the way. I love you. I love you.”
Then, her son offers to sing for her.
“Go ahead and flow it. Go ahead,” she says.
He begins softly singing “Happy Birthday to You…”—but what she doesn’t realize is that he’s not just on the phone. He’s walking up behind her, holding a bouquet.
As he reaches her, the moment becomes too much. The mother nearly collapses from shock and joy, caught gently by the surrounding family.
Through tearful eyes, she embraces her son tightly. “Oh, Lord,” he says with a smile. “Come on, let’s go sit down over here.”
The relative filming can be heard saying, “I told y’all. I told y’all to grab her!”
