Tamar Braxton’s relationship with ex-boyfriend David Adefeso took a disturbing turn after news of her attempted suicide circulated the internet.

In the weeks that followed, details surrounding Tamar’s mental health and her upcoming reality television show surfaced, painting a dark picture of the couple’s relationship.

Speaking recently to Hollywood Unlocked’s Jason Lee, Tamar was asked about a bruise spotted on her arm after a dispute with Adefeso.

“Ok, so it’s a lot of variables as to why I can’t give you a direct answer. Number one is the legal aspect. I’m just going to be a 1000 with you. That day in the car was a horrible day and it was a lot of emotions,” she told Lee. “It was a lot happening. And I’m not making excuses for him. But I’m talking about the experience that we both had with suicide and how hard that was for both of us. And how difficult it was for the both of us to figure out what had just transpired in our relationship, in our friendship, in our family. It was very, very hard.”

According to several sources, Adefeso was allegedly a controlling boyfriend, jealous of her fame and hungry for the limelight. Eventually, Adefeso addressed the rumors, pointing the finger at his famous ex, accusing her of being physically abusive.

“I’ve been a victim of domestic violence, domestic assault – I was driving on high-speed and I was attacked on my jugular,” Adefeso said in October.

He also cited the physical altercation inside a moving vehicle, but after Tamar revealed that she had secretly recorded the confrontation, Adefeso, who filed for a restraining order out against her said she caused $30,000 worth of damage to his 2016 Rolls Royce. He claimed that Tamar was violent several times and threatened his life.

Despite her refusal to go into detail about the fight, Tamar credits it as being the worst of her life.

“It was probably the worst argument I’ve ever been in my life. But I’m going to tell you that David and I were not in an emotionally or physically abusive relationship. But that was the worst argument we’ve ever had in our lives.”

She also expressed her wish to be able to revisit the incident with her former flame, as they used to be good friends.
