Haddish claims that she went to the doctor in November of last year because she kept “passing out.”

The comedian opened up more than ever about her health before her upcoming memoir, “I Curse You With Joy,” released on May 7.

Tiffany Haddish spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about the heartache her battle with reproductive health has caused her.

The actress revealed that she has been battling endometriosis—a disorder in which the endometrium extends outside of the uterus and can cause pelvic pain—for years, even before her DUI brush with the law

Tiffany Haddish pleaded not guilty to two misdemeanor charges following her DUI arrest in 2023.

After serving food at L.A.’s Laugh Factory and doing a set at the famed comedy club on Thanksgiving Day, Haddish was taken into custody the day after Thanksgiving.

That Friday at 5:45 a.m., someone called the authorities to report that a car was obstructing Beverly Drive close to Dayton Way. It was reported that Haddish was dozing off behind the wheel with her car parked in the middle of the road.

During a subsequent set at the Laugh Factory, the Girls Trip star said, “This will never happen again,” referring to the arrest incident. She also vowed to “get some help” to “learn balance and boundaries.”

Soon after, Tiffany Haddish went on Amanda de Cadnet’s podcast, The Conversation, and declared that she was sober. After two DUI arrests, the comedian and actor opened up to Hoda Kotb on “Making Space” about how her life has changed.

“I haven’t smoked any weed or drunk any alcohol in, like, 72 days.”

However, in her interview about her new memoir,  I Curse You With Joy, Tiffany Haddish talked about blacking out when driving, but people thought “she was sleeping.”

She revealed that in November, she had to go and see a doctor about the pain from her battle with endometriosis.

“She gave me something because I kept passing out. I don’t talk about it, but people just think I’m sleeping everywhere, but I’m passing out because I’ll be in so much pain.”
