A devastating crash that killed three women and critically injured another has sparked growing concern—not only for the accident itself but for what was captured on video just moments before their lives were tragically cut short.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 3:16 a.m. on Sunday along State Road 19, south of Saint Florian Lane in Lake County.
A 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by 30-year-old Shaykaylah Mathis of Mount Dora, failed to navigate a curve, veered off the roadway, and struck a pole before overturning multiple times, according to The Neighborhood Talk.

The three passengers in the vehicle, identified as Kaneisha Lewis, 32, Aqutavia Pew, 28, and Mariah Belcher, 26—all from Eustis—were ejected from the SUV. None of the four occupants were wearing seatbelts, investigators confirmed.
However, what has made this tragedy even more harrowing is the emergence of video footage taken from inside the vehicle shortly before the crash.

The footage, reportedly posted to Facebook stories, shows the women drinking, laughing, and recording themselves while in the car. At one point, the Jeep’s speedometer is seen hitting 116 mph, and one of the women can be heard saying, “Hit the dash!”
The high-speed joyride ended in catastrophe, leaving families and communities in mourning. Florida Highway Patrol is actively investigating the incident, but the footage has already sparked an outpouring of emotional reactions online.
Many have called it a sobering wake-up call about the dangers of drinking and reckless driving.
“This is heartbreaking. It’s a reminder that life can change in a matter of seconds,” one commenter wrote on social media.
Others urged young drivers to prioritize safety, emphasizing the importance of seatbelt use and responsible decision-making behind the wheel.Authorities continue to urge drivers to be mindful of their choices, as the consequences of risky behavior on the road
