Nicki Minaj and SZA are locked in a fiery Twitter war that no one saw coming. What started as vague subtweets quickly escalated into direct insults, leaving fans stunned and scrambling to keep up.
So, how did we get here?
The mess kicked off when Nicki Minaj took to Twitter, excuse us, X, and fired shots at Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) president Punch. For reasons still unclear (but very Nicki-coded), she accused him of bullying her online and came with all the smoke, calling him “Tiny D*ck Executive” and sarcastically dubbing him “Minus 30 million.” She claimed she’d been holding receipts and her tongue for a while.
Now, SZA, who is signed to TDE and currently on her Grand National Tour with Kendrick Lamar, didn’t directly mention anyone, but she posted a tweet shortly after Nicki’s rant saying:
“Mercury retrograde .. don’t take the bait lol silly goose.”
Seemed lighthearted. Even playful. But Nicki took it personally, as if someone had come for her wigline.
Nicki went from 0 to 100, FAST.
She responded with:
“Go draw your freckles back on bookie #JusticeForDemoree #DepositionPerez… Sounding like a f*king dead dog.”
Nicki’s tweet was brutal. Not only did she drag SZA’s looks, but she also threw in references to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation CEO, Desiree Perez, and the now-viral “Justice for Demoree” situation that has been haunting the rapper’s mentions for weeks.
But SZA wasn’t about to play submissive.
She fired off:
“I don’t give a f**k bout none of that weird shit you popping.”
And when Nicki’s infamous fanbase, the Barbz, came in hot, warning her about the chaos she was stepping into, SZA stood on business. She reminded everyone who she was, casually flexing her $95.5 million-grossing SOS Tour and her sold-out arena dates with Kendrick.
“Y’all have a blessed night! See you tomorrow for night 2 Paris!!” she signed off, unbothered.
