Woman Living in Her Car Gives Unfiltered Tour To Her Followers: ‘I Screamed When I Saw Your Clothes Line!’

by Gee NY

Living out of a car isn’t stopping one woman from living out loud. Known online as Nate or @mothernateur, the social media personality gave her 274,000 Instagram followers an honest, humorous, and resourceful look at her unconventional lifestyle with a now-viral car tour posted on Feb. 15.

“I LIVE IN MY CAR: Car Tour!!!” she captioned the post, which has drawn praise for its raw transparency and self-deprecating charm.

In the accompanying video, Nate first captures herself taking a bath at an undisclosed location before walking viewers through her compact mobile home parked by the beach.

Starting with what she calls “the cockpit”, she makes her way to the back—where she’s cleverly installed an 8-inch memory foam mattress, sock storage, dehumidifiers, and even a pee cup (jokingly noting, “I haven’t used this thing in so long…”).

The glove compartment doubles as a personal pharmacy, stocked with Tylenol, hand sanitizer, Visine, among others. Then lying loosely by the gear is a surprise self-defense item, in case she needs “to shank of a motherfer,”***.

Among the creative touches are clothesline hooks for drying laundry, compartments for “granny panties” and “thongs,” and a homemade skincare stash including body butter and hair oil.

She also highlights practical gear like a portable power station, jumper cables (humorously mispronounced at first), and a portable stove — for outdoor cooking when it’s not too cold for cooking outside.

“I do go out to eat every night, which I can’t complain about,” she shares, flashing a smile.

Followers have flooded the comments with admiration for her resilience and resourcefulness, calling the tour “brilliant,” “honest,” and “inspiring.” Below are a few of the comments:

My question is, how long you plan to do this?

  • What happened to the America I watched on tv as a kid this ain’t 😢
  • At first this may seem like a crazy idea but do this for six months to one year. You would be shocked to see how much money she must have saved to start up something like a business or something. Beautiful lady, kudos to you , I indeed commend ur creativity.
  • Where do you take your bath?
  • My car note so high I might as well move into mine… all jokes aside
  • QUESTION!! i plan on taking a long road trip to oregon from georgia!! where do you get your privacy protectors for your windows when you sleep , where can you park your car overnight ? and do you bring hot plates or electric pots for cooking ?
  • I screamed when I saw your clothe line! Like Girl Whet?! Creative!!!

While van life has been romanticized online in recent years, Nate’s tour strips away the gloss to reveal both the challenges and creativity that come with turning a car into a livable space.

From water rationing and minimalism to jokes about wetting the bed occasionally, her candid humor resonates deeply in a time when housing insecurity continues to affect thousands across the U.S.

“Thanks for coming to my crib, y’all,” she signs off, channeling MTV nostalgia with a gritty, real-world twist.
