After the video of Diddy abusing Cassie, Cassie’s husband, Alex Fine, posts about violence against women.
Following the shocking reemergence of a surveillance video on Friday purporting to show Sean “Diddy” Combs physically abusing his then-girlfriend Ventura, Alex Fine denounced abusers in a scathing Instagram post.
In the recently surfaced 2016 video, Combs is seen assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie in a hotel in Los Angeles.
The video, which was recorded by security cameras, appears to show Diddy grabbing, shoving, and kicking Cassie, who filed a lawsuit against Combs in November. The footage matches allegations in her lawsuit outlining an incident at the now-shuttered InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.
But, she dropped the case a day later after the parties reached an out-of-court settlement.
When CNN first acquired the video, they revealed the incident occurred on March 5, 2016.
After the shocking footage went viral, many people, including Cassie’s husband, Lex Fine, have reacted to the heartwrenching abuse captured on tape.
Cassie has been married to her husband, Alex Fine, since 2019.
Two months after announcing her split from rapper Diddy, the “Me & U” singer—real name Casandra Ventura—first hinted at her romance with Fine in December 2018.
Ventura and Fine got married the following August, and in December, they welcomed Frankie, their first child together. In March 2021, they announced Sunny, their second daughter, ‘s birth.
Throughout his wife’s legal battle against Diddy for assault and sexual abuse, Fine has been a firm supporter of Cassie. And this time, he has a few words for all domestic abuse victims in the world.
The personal trainer shared a screenshot of a notes application on Instagram in reaction to the recently discovered video of Diddy abusing Cassie.
“Men who hit women aren’t men. Men who enable it and protect those people aren’t men. As men, violence against women shouldn’t be inevitable. Check your brothers, your friends, and your family. Our daughters, sisters, mothers, and wives should feel protected and loved. Hold the women in your life with the utmost regard. Men who hurt women hate women,” the typed note read.
It continued, “To all the survivors, find the men and women who help and love. To all the survivors, your stories are real, and people believe you. To all the survivors, you’re not alone, and there are men and women who care only for your well-being and safety. We want you to succeed and flourish. To all the women and children, I’m sorry you live in a world where you’re not protected and you don’t feel equal. I want to raise my daughters in a world where they are safe and loved.”
Alex Fine concluded the post by directly speaking to “the abusers.”
“You’re done, you’re not safe anymore, you’re not protected anymore, the men by your side are just as weak, you’re so miserable with yourself that death would be considered a kindness.”
