Meet Karen Derrico: Mom of 14, Including Twins, Triplets, and Quintuplets—And She’s Not Done Yet!

by Gee NY

Karen Derrico (@karenederrico) is no stranger to a full house, but she’s not done yet! With 14 kids already—yes, you read that right—Karen’s still thinking about adding more to her impressive brood.

In a promo clip for Mama’s Den on YouTube earlier this year, Karen revealed that while her youngest are 4-year-old triplets, she’s not closing the door on expanding her family. In fact, she’s manifesting her next baby!

From her 18-year-old daughter Darian, all the way down to her youngest set of triplets, Karen has quite the story.

After welcoming twins, quintuplets, and two sets of triplets (with one sadly passing away), most people would probably say, “Enough!” But Karen? She’s still wondering how other moms just know when they’re done having kids.

“I admire people who say they’re done,” she shared, joking that the only one putting the brakes on more kids might be her husband.

Karen’s approach to family life is nothing short of remarkable, and her fun, upbeat attitude shows she’s fully embracing the chaos and joy that come with such a large family.

The Derrico family’s journey, as documented on TLC’s Doubling Down with the Derricos, has shown the world what life is like with multiples, and Karen is proof that love—and patience—grows with every new addition.

So, how does she do it? Karen jokes that she doesn’t have a secret formula, just a lot of love and a heart wide open for more kids.

With her next baby already “manifested,” it seems we might hear more exciting Derrico news in the future!

In June 2024, People carried a story disclosing the 44-year-old mom and her husband, Deon Derrico, finalized their divorce on June 6, 2024 just two days after filing.

They have since been adjusting to co-parent their 14 children, including 13 minors. Karen, however, said at the time that she was “doing okay.”
