It seems congratulations might be in order for Ashanti and Nelly once again! According to reports, the couple is expecting their second child just months after welcoming their son, Kareem Kenkaide Haynes.
Sources revealed to the Jasmine Brand on Wednesday that the beloved musicians are expecting their second child together after secretly tying the knot last December in St. Louis.
The couple’s journey back to each other has been a feel-good story of 2024. After more than a decade apart, Ashanti and Nelly found their way back into each other’s arms, much to the delight of their fans.
44-year-old Ashanti and Nelly, 50, first crossed paths at a 2003 Grammy Awards press conference, leading to a decade-long relationship that ended in 2013. Their unexpected reunion occurred in Las Vegas during a boxing match in April 2023.
Their rekindled romance has been marked by love, laughter, and milestones, including the birth of their son.
Ashanti announced the birth of their son with photos of her postpartum body as she posed in her Frida Mom disposable underwear, sharing what her fourth trimester looks like.
In the carousel of photos on her Instagram, she also shared a video of herself in a blue robe, with the caption, “Four weeks postpartum. You have no idea what this body can do.”
During a recent ET interview, Ashanti called Nelly her “soulmate.” Their reunion surprised even them, as Nelly confessed to Love & Hip Hop stars Rasheeda and Kirk Frost: “Sometimes being separate, you understand one another more.”
While details about the rumored pregnancy remain scarce, fans have already taken to social media to express joy.
“When you’re older, you don’t have a lot of time to spare between pregnancies…Congrats!” a fan wrote.
