Tracee Ellis Ross just dropped a travel revelation that has the internet clutching their luggage in disbelief. At the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Summit, the Black-ish star admitted she only packs two pairs of underwear for trips, no matter how long she’s gone. And she handwashes them in hotel sinks.
The award-winning actress and “Black-ish” icon had the crowd gasping at Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Summit on July 15 when she casually revealed her go-to packing list for trips. Among her essentials are a bathing suit, flip-flops, one cute little roll-up dress, and… wait for it… two pairs of underwear.
“There’s always two undies,” she confirmed. Tracee says she simply washes them in the hotel sink with a little shower gel. One sink for scrubbing, one for rinsing. Hang them up. Let ‘em dry. Repeat.
“If I’m gone for a month on this trip, you can’t pack a month’s worth of underwear,” she said. “They take up a lot of space.”
Some fans applauded her practicality. Others couldn’t imagine traveling anywhere without stuffing a full drawer of panties into their suitcase, just in case.
“She must not be a heavy sweater. That’s elite,” one X user joked. Another chimed in, “Me? I pack 15 pairs of drawers for a 3-day weekend. We are not the same.”
However, Tracee’s philosophy extends beyond simply saving suitcase space. She’s long been an advocate for solo travel and self-care. In fact, her new Roku series, “Solo Traveling with Tracee Ellis Ross,” is all about that lifestyle, and it premieres on July 25.
“Solo travel, in particular, is how I’ve come to know and honor myself,” she said. “I’m a child of the world. Even though people may not speak the same language, we are all the same.”
She believes that understanding different cultures helps us realize we are all the same, making her feel safe anywhere.
While Black Twitter debates whether two pairs of panties could ever be enough, Tracee’s somewhere booking her next flight, gel in her carry-on, and underwear on the drying rack.
