Jasmine Crockett Pushes Back on ‘Coordinated Attack’ Over Israel–Gaza Stance

U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett of Texas says she is facing a “coordinated attack” on social media aimed at misrepresenting her views on the Israel–Palestine conflict, as she ramps up her campaign for the U.S. Senate.

Speaking during a recent campaign stop in Houston, Crockett addressed the wave of online criticism that followed her Senate bid announcement, telling Houston Chronicle reporter Jeremy Wallace that her positions on Israel and Gaza have been deliberately distorted.

“There was a coordinated attack on me on social media that was mischaracterizing my position,” Crockett said.

The Democratic lawmaker explained that shortly after she entered the race, misleading video clips and claims about her voting record began circulating online.

According to Crockett, critics have focused on her votes related to foreign aid, falsely alleging that she supports Israel-only military funding and that she has ties to the pro-Israel lobbying group AIPAC.

Crockett firmly rejected both claims. She said she has never been endorsed by AIPAC and clarified that her April vote on a supplemental foreign aid package was far broader than her critics suggest.

“That supplemental package was for defensive help to Israel, as well as it was for money for Gaza. It was for money for Taiwan. It was also money for Haiti,” she said. “And so yes, I voted for it.”

She added that she has opposed other bills that sought to provide funding exclusively for Israel, a key detail she says is consistently omitted by those attacking her record.

Crockett also pointed to the political realities of Congress, noting that Republicans control the House and determine which bills make it to the floor. As a result, Democrats often use their limited leverage to push for humanitarian assistance alongside security funding.

“There were no packages that the Republicans were putting forth that were actually going to give money for Gaza,” she said, arguing that Democratic support for broader aid packages has been essential to securing relief for civilians in Gaza, as well as assistance for Haiti and Taiwan.

While Crockett has been openly critical of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, she emphasized that her stance should not be confused with hostility toward Israeli people.

“I have no hate for any kind of people,” she said. “I love people, but I don’t necessarily love the Netanyahu government. I don’t think that it’s fair to go after an entire people because you don’t like their government.”

She drew a parallel to her opposition to former President Donald Trump, adding, “I’m not in love with the Trump government either. It just is what it is.”

As she prepares for the March 3, 2026, Democratic primary, Crockett said she is determined not to let what she describes as misleading attacks derail her campaign or distract from voters’ most pressing concerns.

“I’m OK with people disagreeing with my record,” she said. “I’m not OK with people disagreeing with something that’s been completely mischaracterized in an attempt to distract.”

She added that issues such as affordability, the economy, and everyday survival remain her top focus.

“I refuse to be distracted,” Crockett said.
