Claressa Shields is once again putting her future family plans with Papoose front and center. The boxing champion recently said she wishes she could give the rapper a baby as a birthday surprise, sparking renewed conversation about their relationship and long-term plans.
On Sunday, March 1, just days before Papoose’s 48th birthday, Claressa shared a photo of the couple dressed in coordinated floor-length fur coats. Alongside the image, she wrote that her man deserves everything and added that she wished she could surprise him with a baby for his birthday.
“My man deserves everything,” Claressa tweeted. “I wish for his bday I could surprise him with a baby.”
The post quickly drew reactions online, with some urging the 30-year-old Olympian to stay focused on her boxing career and others pointing out that Papoose remains legally married to Remy Ma. Claressa addressed both points directly. In response to one user, she wrote that the situation is called divorce, dismissing criticism about his marital status. In another exchange, Claressa stated that she and Papoose are planning to build their family by the end of 2026.
The couple has been together for nearly two years. Their relationship became public in December 2024 after Remy Ma revealed that Claressa and Papoose were dating. Papoose and Remy married in 2016 and share a seven-year-old daughter, Reminisce Mackenzie. He is also a father of four. Since news of the relationship surfaced, Remy has moved on with battle rapper Eazy the Block Captain.
During the holidays, Claressa also pushed back against rumors that Papoose spent Christmas with Remy, telling one commenter they were misinformed about the situation. The boxer has at times stepped in when questions about Papoose’s ongoing divorce have arisen, signaling that the subject remains sensitive.
Claressa has been open about wanting children. Last summer, she spoke candidly about her desire to start a family with Papoose and shared that she hopes to have four children with him. In August, she posted that she could not wait to get pregnant and suggested that critics would not take the news well.
Her comments about motherhood come as she continues her professional boxing career. As Papoose approaches another birthday, Claressa’s public statements make clear that starting a family remains a priority in her vision for the years ahead.
