Beyoncé’s Cécred x BeyGood Fund is doubling down on its commitment to supporting the beauty industry with the launch of its second round of business grants aimed at salon owners facing financial challenges.

The fund, which is part of Beyoncé’s efforts to empower the next generation of hair care professionals, reopened applications on Wednesday, May 1, for its business grants initiative.

This initiative awards five grants of $10,000 each to salon owners in need of financial assistance. It forms a part of the fund’s annual $500,000 in contributions towards cosmetology school scholarships and salon business grants in five selected cities: Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, and New Jersey.

In the first round of grant distributions last month, the fund announced recipients for both scholarships and business grants.

Twenty-five $10,000 financial aid scholarships were awarded to students across five cosmetology schools, while another twenty-five $10,000 grants were provided to qualifying salon owners.

Among the recipients were five students from Beaver Beauty Academy in Atlanta, Trenz Beauty Academy in Chicago, Universal College of Beauty in Los Angeles, Franklin Institute in Houston, and Janas Cosmetology Academy in New Jersey. Additionally, five salons, including Kingdom Glam Beauty Depot in Atlanta, Amour Full Service Salon Inc. in Chicago, Knot’s Beauty Company LLC in Houston, Nela Beauty Salon LLC in Los Angeles, and The A Lifestyle in New Jersey, received the $10,000 business grants.

In an Instagram announcement, BeyGOOD said it is important to support hairstylists and aspiring professionals, stating:

“Hair Stylists (and aspiring stylists) are imperative to our community and we’re committed to supporting their growth.”

The philanthropic efforts of Cécred x BeyGood follow the successful launch of the haircare line earlier this year, marking Beyoncé’s foray into the haircare industry to carry forward her family’s legacy.

Ms. Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s mother, expressed the significance of hair in their lives, stating:

“Hair has always been a very big part of our lives. Just as fashion saved our family, hair is how we made a living.”

She further spoke about the cultural importance of hairstyling within the Black community and the legacy passed down through generations.

Since its debut, Cécred has garnered widespread praise from customers of all hair types, with social media testimonials showcasing the brand’s positive impact and effective results.
