Cardi B has faced backlash following her announcement about a new business venture with Bobbie, but she’s not holding back against her critics.
This week, Bobbie, a company that specializes in organic baby formula, announced that Cardi will be joining them as their Chief Confidence Officer. This role is part of their latest campaign, “B is for Bobbie,” which aims to empower parents, foster confidence in feeding choices, and raise awareness about the quality of infant formula in the U.S.
What was intended to be a celebration of motherhood and advocacy quickly devolved into a social media uproar. Some users expressed disapproval over Bobbie’s collaboration with Cardi, digging up past tweets to challenge her credibility.
As always, Cardi wasn’t going to remain quiet. During an impassioned Twitter Space, she responded to those attempting to “cancel” her and defended her collaboration with Bobbie. Staying true to her bold personality, she stated, “When Bobbie comes with something very, very special and very important, y’all some little kids and grown men using fake accounts in the name of Black women. Guess what? I’m a big part of this. Stop being weird, do your research, and shut the f**k up. What’s mine is mine. Keep trying to cancel me. I’m very, very blessed!”
Fans and critics alike flooded the comments, discussing whether Cardi was the right representative for the campaign. While some labeled her response as “iconic,” others considered the partnership to be “off-brand.”
Nevertheless, Bobbie stood firmly behind Cardi. They released a statement in her defense, saying, “We can’t speak to Cardi’s posts on X, but from our experience, she’s been nothing but a fierce advocate for moms and women. A wonderful mom herself and a dedicated partner who authentically cares about these issues.”
When one user indicated they were unfollowing the brand due to Cardi’s involvement, Bobbie responded with a calm, “Sorry to hear that!”
