Cardi B Seeks Justice Again: Accuses Tasha K of Hiding Assets Amid Bankruptcy Case

by Gee NY

Cardi B is doubling down in her legal battle against YouTuber Tasha K, accusing the vlogger of concealing assets after filing for bankruptcy earlier this year.

The Grammy-winning rapper alleges that Tasha, whose real name is Latasha Kebe, has gone to extraordinary lengths to protect her finances following a high-profile defamation lawsuit that awarded Cardi nearly $4 million in damages.

The ongoing saga dates back to 2019, when Cardi—born Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar—sued Tasha for making false and damaging claims, including accusations of drug use, having STDs, and engaging in alleged prostitution.

After a 2022 jury trial, Cardi emerged victorious, but the battle for compensation has only intensified.

In new court documents filed in Florida bankruptcy court, Cardi’s legal team claims that Tasha K “fraudulently transferred assets and income” to her husband and offshore accounts to shield them from scrutiny.

The assets allegedly include domestic and offshore trusts in locations such as the Cook Islands, Nevis, and Georgia.

Cardi’s attorneys argue that Tasha is maintaining a lifestyle inconsistent with her reported financial status, pointing to her $7,000-a-month apartment and lavish displays of luxury on social media, including high-end handbags, jewelry, and clothing.

Tasha K filed for bankruptcy in May 2023, claiming less than $60,000 in assets. Despite this, Cardi’s legal team contends that Tasha’s financial maneuvers are deliberate attempts to evade accountability.

Cardi’s initial lawsuit against Tasha K resulted in a landmark decision. Tasha was found liable for slander, libel, and invasion of privacy. Cardi revealed in court that the YouTuber’s defamatory remarks caused her immense emotional distress, including suicidal thoughts.

The judgment awarded Cardi $1 million in general damages, $1.5 million in punitive damages, $1.3 million for legal fees, and $250,000 for medical expenses.

Now, Cardi is requesting the bankruptcy case be dismissed entirely and seeks a two-year prohibition against Tasha filing for bankruptcy again.
