Cardi B’s headlining BET Experience concert was disrupted by technical issues, triggering her to take a swipe at the crew.
The rapper stopped her set mid-performance to address the disruption. And it wasn’t pretty for all!
Cardi B took command of the stage at the BET Experience in Los Angeles on Friday night in a leather sequined black and silver #11 jersey, paired with coordinating black leather micro shorts and rhinestone-studded platform Prada boots.
The Bongos rapper, who just lately displayed one of her rare Hermes handbags, performed an assortment of her hit songs, including Press, Money, and No Limit, and the audience loved it.
Unfortunately, the 31-year-old I Like It singer felt that the set lacked the desired impact. So, during the show, she took the opportunity to slam the production team in charge of her stage effects.
“No offense, yo, but production, y’all messing up my pyros,” she said. “Y’all messing up my music. Fck am I paying y’all pssy ass n****s for? What am I paying y’all for?”
“What the fk I’m paying y’all nias for?” she repeated.
The video ended with her saying, “Put my fing fan on, bh. Let’s go.”
Some fans were unhappy with Cardi’s treatment of her production crew. And YouTuber Milagro Gramz, who wasn’t fond of her comments, accused the Grammy-winning rapper of disrespecting the production team during her performance.
“I understand that people have families to feed, but I wished we lived in a better world because no one should ever be disrespected like this in a workplace environment/at all,” Milgaro wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
“This principle isn’t exclusive to less glamorous positions. Celebrities included.”
The incident has sparked a more extensive discussion about the significance of production quality at major events.
The “Enough” rapper headlined Friday night’s BET Experience concert at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. Other performers on the bill included Gunna, Davido, Sexyy Red, and Jordan Ward.
