Rapper Coi Leray recently addressed fans who suggested it’s acceptable to smoke marijuana while pregnant, firmly stating her disapproval of the practice.

Coi Leray isn’t holding back when it comes to the controversial topic of marijuana use during pregnancy. Expecting her first child with fellow rapper Trippie Redd, the “Players” artist recently went live to address fans who suggested it’s okay to smoke weed while carrying a child. Her response? A firm and fiery “No!”

During her live session, Coi opened up about her personal experience with smoking and pregnancy. She revealed that she quit smoking immediately after discovering she was six weeks pregnant, emphasizing how easy the decision was for her.

“When I found out? I was smoking all the way up to like six weeks. Maybe? I didn’t know I was pregnant. When I found out, I instantly stopped. It was like going cold turkey. But for me, it was just so easy because it was like a mental thing. Like once you realize and find out that you’re about to be a mom, you want to try to just do the best thing—not only for your child but for yourself.”

However, some fans seemed to disagree, claiming that smoking marijuana during pregnancy was acceptable. Coi didn’t hesitate to call out these opinions, slamming them as reckless.

“That is so f*cking ratchet. No! It’s not that important for me to smoke.”

The “No More Parties” rapper took to Instagram Wednesday to announce her pregnancy with a photo carousel showing off her baby bump alongside Trippie Redd. She captioned the post, “I’m a rock star mommy 💋 we ready for 2025 🖤.”

The post featured photos of a drawing with “Mommy” in cursive script alongside a photo of Stitch from Disney classic “Lilo & Stitch,” Leray clutching her bump and the pair side by side by a ping-pong table celebrating their new arrival.

Congratulatory messages filled her comments section from fellow female artists, including Anycia, BIA, Lady London, GloRilla, Mariah the Scientist, Ice Spice, Shenseea, Kehlani, and DreamDoll, who announced her own pregnancy earlier this week.

This will mark the couple’s first child together, highlighting a romance that has been given a second chance. After a brief relationship in 2019, they parted ways, and Redd released a breakup song titled “Leray,” with lyrics that indicated there were no hard feelings. In 2024, however, Redd, 25, and Leray, 27, appeared to reignite their chemistry. Redd confirmed their renewed relationship to TMZ in September and mentioned that they might collaborate in the studio again.
