Despite grappling with homelessness and the trauma of losing her father in a house fire, Mazard-Larry’s indomitable spirit propelled her to academic excellence, culminating in an impressive 8.07 grade point average.

At the outset of her high school years, her family found themselves without a home after a devastating fire razed their residence.

Amidst the chaos and grief, she embarked on her academic pursuits with unwavering determination, refusing to let circumstances dictate her future.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony on May 13, 2023, Mazard-Larry delivered a stirring valedictory address, urging her peers to persevere in the face of adversity.

“Rejection doesn’t mean you failed. Rejection means to just be patient. Your time will come,” she declared.

Throughout her high school tenure, Mazard-Larry exhibited exceptional academic prowess, participating in Advanced Placement classes, dual enrollment programs, and the Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education program.
