Videos of Brittany Renner and Dallas Mavericks forward PJ Washington in a fiery custody exchange over their son that quickly turned personal and messy have gone viral.
A video that surfaced on social media shows Renner, Washington, and his wife, Alisah Chanel, caught up in a tense back-and-forth while handing over their son, PJ Jr. The moment got so heated, even Renner’s mother jumped in, sparking accusations, insults, and a whole lot of family drama.
In the clip, Renner hands over a visibly upset PJ Jr. to Washington, who was waiting outside his ex’s home. The Basketball Wives star wasn’t holding back.
“This is what we are not doing,” Renner said as her son cried. “Every time that he does this, I’m going to record this. Because that’s not okay.”
She went on to claim that this was the “third time” their son had cried during a handoff, demanding that Washington step up. “So, actually show up and do something with him. ’Cause he does this every time,” Renner told him.
Washington, clearly frustrated, pushed back. He accused Renner and her mother of “babying” PJ Jr., a charge the two women quickly denied.
As if the tension wasn’t high enough, the exchange spiraled into name-calling. After Renner followed Washington to his car, the NBA player snapped.
“Sk dk,” Washington told Renner’s mother when she challenged him. When she asked him to repeat himself, he doubled down: “I didn’t stutter.”
“If you had one, maybe I would. Py-a b***,” Renner’s mother fired back.
The argument didn’t end there. She went on to accuse Washington of giving his wife $170,000 while putting only $11,000 into his son’s account.
That’s when Alisah, PJ’s wife, sitting in the car, finally jumped in. “Shut the f*** up!” she shouted, clearly fed up. Renner’s mother then called her out directly, daring her to get out of the car and fight.
Washington and Renner’s relationship has been rocky for years. The two welcomed PJ Jr. in 2021 but split soon after. In 2023, Washington married Alisah Chanel, with whom he now shares two children.
Meanwhile, Renner has had her own whirlwind of headlines. Earlier in 2025, she married rapper Kevin Gates, only for the marriage to crash just 52 days later. She also converted to Islam in 2024 before reverting back to Christianity in June 2025.
Online, fans are split. Some say Renner has a point about her son’s emotional well-being and Washington’s financial priorities. Others argue Washington is being unfairly painted as a deadbeat when custody exchanges are notoriously tough on kids.
