Just six months after Shine My Crown reported that Nicki Minaj had just purchased a luxury home in California’s Hidden Hills estate, reports have confirmed that her neighbors have filed a petition to have her removed from the neighborhood…thanks to her husband Kenneth Petty.

Word on the street is her neighbors got wind of Petty being registered as a sex offender in the state of New York. When the convicted felon changed his address to his new Los Angeles home, a neighbor thought it was necessary to file a petition entitled “Say No to Sex Offenders in Hidden Hills.” The document cites concerns over property value and safety, and at the time of this writing, more than 1,000 people have signed the petition, which has set a goal to receive 1,500 signatures.

When the Queens rapper and her husband first moved to California, Petty was punished for failing to register as a sex offender in California and was subsequently ordered to serve one year in home detention.

Neither Petty nor Minaj has responded to the petition.

Meanwhile, a judge has mandated Petty to settle the harassment lawsuit against him by Jennifer Hough, the woman who accused him of sexually assaulting her in 1994. In court documents, a judge has ordered that the case go to mediation with the intent to reach a settlement.

Hough’s attorneys argue Petty’s legal team isn’t moving quickly enough, so her lawyers are requesting a scheduling order to resume negotiations.

“We are counsel to Plaintiff Jennifer Hough in the above-referenced matter. I write jointly with counsel for Defendant Kenneth Petty,” Hough’s lawyer Tyrpne Blackburn wrote in his letter to the judge. “As you know, the Court provided the parties with an opportunity to engage in private mediation. The parties participated in private mediation, but unfortunately, we were unable to reach a settlement. We would like to have a scheduling conference with the court to set a scheduling order.”
