Kirsten Corley and her soon-to-be ex-husband, Chancelor Johnathan Bennett, known professionally as Chance the Rapper announced that they had been separated for a period before finally deciding to end their marriage officially.
The former model’s nearly 5-year marriage with her husband, Chance the Rapper, has ended.
Kirsten Corley met Chance when they were children. But their friendship went dormant after they moved away from each other. A decade later, in 2013, the pair reunited and started dating.
Despite his high-profile career, Chance kept his relationship with Corley private until they married in a classy, intimate ceremony in 2019 in Newport Beach, California.
At the wedding, Chance told how he and Corley met on X (formerly Twitter). He shared screenshots detailing his first encounter with his wife when he first met her at his mother’s office party in 2003 when he was nine.
The rapper revealed that he couldn’t take his eyes off Kirsten Corley when she and her friends went out to perform a dance routine to the Destiny’s Child song “Independent Women Part 1.”
“Now I’m locking eyes with the prettiest girl I’ve ever seen in mine, almost a decade of life on Earth. I really shouldn’t even say locked eyes ’cause really, I was just staring at her,” he recollected.
The pair recalled meeting again in 2012 at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas. Eventually, they reconnected when they returned to Chicago shortly afterward.
Chance proposed to Corley
On July 4, 2018, at a family backyard party in Chicago, Chance popped the big question, which received a yes answer from the influencer.

The next day, Chance tweeted, “She said yes 🔗,” sharing his good news with the world.
On Wednesday, March 03, Chance the Rapper and Kirsten Corley announced their divorce through a joint statement on their social media accounts.
“After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways. We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters who we will continue to raise together. We kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate this transition,” The statement read.
The hip-hop couple are parents of two daughters, 7-year-old Kensli and 4-year-old Marli.
Their daughter, Kensli, was the flower girl on their wedding day.
